Appeal court rebuffs attempt to influence judge in abortion sentencing
A group of senior doctors has been criticised by the Court of Appeal for “special pleading” on behalf of a woman convicted of procuring her own miscarriage. It was “disappointing and concerning”, the judges added with perhaps a hint of understatement, that these eminent doctors didn’t understand the court’s role.
