A 37-year-old man who was convicted of indecently assaulting two women nearly 20 years ago has had his convictions quashed after a new analysis of DNA evidence pointed to the guilt of another man.
As the barrister Matthew Scott said on Twitter, it’s a case that demonstrates, yet again, the unreliability of eye-witness evidence:
