Prince Harry broke a High Court order by emailing confidential information to his lawyers and to a government minister, a judge said yesterday.

Six weeks ago, Sir Peter Lane dismissed a challenge brought by the Duke of Sussex over the arrangements for his personal security during visits to Great Britain.

In a ruling released yesterday, the duke was refused permission to appeal by Lane, who retired from the High Court earlier this year. One of Harry’s arguments was “frankly hopeless”, the judge concluded, and there were no “other compelling reasons” for an appeal to be heard.
