Interim measures under review

Human rights judge meets political leaders

The president of the European Court of Human Rights has confirmed that the vexed issue of interim measures is under review.

These measures, made under rule 39 of the court’s rules, are comparable to an injunction or an interdict. They are regarded by the court as binding.
