Dominic Raab will give evidence tomorrow to the Commons justice committee. Questions will be led by Sir Bob Neill MP, whose genial manner and traditional courtesy belie a powerful forensic mind and a distaste for the more extreme manifestations of Conservatism.
The committee said its session was expected to cover:
Resourcing of the Ministry of Justice and future funding challenges
Legislative programme – Bill of Rights, Victims Bill, Reform of parole
Prison capacity and IPP prisoners
Case backlog and the state of the court system
But what specific questions should the MPs ask the lord chancellor and secretary of state for justice? Here are a few suggestions of my own.
