Michael Tomlinson MP appointed
Michael Tomlinson MP has been appointed solicitor general, deputy to the attorney general Michael Ellis QC MP.
Tomlinson, previously a government whip, replaces Edward Timpson CBE QC MP, who was in post for precisely two months.
