While judges and politicians are making the most of the short legal vacation, I thought I’d catch up with a couple of recent cases in which the Court of Appeal has rescued the lower courts from some extraordinary errors. I also bring you news of a key appointment that is about to be filled.
A fundamental error
The first case involves a prolific burglar who tricked her way into a private home in south London more than three years ago and proceeded to smash up the kitchen.
