Judge turns down media request to identify 12-year-old murderers
The youngest defendants to be convicted of murder in more than 30 years will not be named when they are sentenced to indefinite detention later this month. In a judgment published yesterday, a High Court judge dismissed an application by media organisations for reporting restrictions to be lifted.
Shawn Seesahai, 19, died last November last year after being set upon by two 12-year-old boys at a park Wolverhampton. He was stabbed through the heart with a 16-inch machete in an unprovoked attack. Seesahai, from Anguilla, had come to Britain for eye surgery.
