I see that Andrew Edis is actually on the selection panel for the LCJ competition. He was tipped as a likely candidate
On the topic of Judicial diversity I note that Lord Kitchin has announced his retirement effective late September. In Judicial terms he is relatively young (68 in April) but he was seriously unwell in late 20 early 21. I wonder if he has fully recovered from whatever ailed him? Whilst he sat in his fair share of cases last year he authored only one Judgement. If there is a like for like replacement ie Chancery with substantial patent experience then Richard Arnold or more likely Colin Birss are in line but it does present an opportunity to give Lady Rose some female company!
