Each served less than 7 years in the High Court and then 3 years in the Court of Appeal leading to their taking up appointment aged 59. But as I pointed out earlier getting to know those who might appoint you, by serving as Vice President of the JAC would appear essential!
I agree that Sharp may shortly retire unless she has done a Lloyd-Jones. In 2017 if I recall correctly he went for the LCJ’s job but applied to the Supreme Court as a back up.
