The Policy Exchange which published Professor Richard Ekins KC’s paper I understand to be rightward leaning ? This is scarcely to malign Mr. Ekins himself but if it is to be Ekins v. Spano on these issues then I find the former ECHR President’s opinions more persuasive.
As to Robert Jenrick and - though I have a little more respect for him-Ben Wallace I am unimpressed by their utterances concerning the threats to opt out of that Court’s authority and influence. Do we truly wish to be shown the door from the Council of Europe following upon the disastrous LOSS of control of our own destiny which has -as predicted by so many - resulted from Brexit? To detach ourselves further from Europe would surely be a prime example of dumbing down further?
